Landholder Environment Grant (LEG) program

Dear landholder.

Each year the Mary River Catchment Coordinating Committee provides assistance to landholders in the Sunshine Coast hinterland to access funding support through the Sunshine Coast Council’s annual Landholder Environment Grant (LEG) program; funded by your Environment Levy. Support up to $15,000 is available through this program for on-ground projects that help protect and enhance the natural values of the area. Eligible projects include:

·        stock exclusion fencing to protect waterways and other ecologically significant areas

·        off-stream watering systems

·  environmental weed control

·        stream bank stabilisation

·        erosion control

·        revegetation

The application process is accessed on-line and is open now. The first stage is to decide what your project will look like and to submit an Expression Of Interest followed by a full application. I am available to assist you; a property visit, project planning, mapping and one-on-one guidance through the process. Your project may dove-tail into other MRCCC programs that can give you further assistance and enhance the outcomes of your project.

Expressions Of Interest close on the 14th August 2023 and applications will be submitted by the 3rd October 2023. If your application is successful the funds will be available for you to use during 2024.
