The hall’s floor.

The Management Committee is investigating sanding and applying a timber coating to the floor.

The frequent hiring of the hall for weddings has highlighted the need to protect the floor from wear and tear.

The movement of hired furniture and equipment in and out of the hall contributes to the wear.

The hall’s butt joined  floor is made from Crows Ash, a hard-wearing Australian hardwood, used particularly in halls because its greasy surface made it more suitable for dancing.

On the 10th of October, a working bee will be held to punch the nails in the hall’s floor.
